We are very pleased with Cal Spec Builders’ quality of workmanship and schedule performance for our home remodel. We completely transformed the kitchen and three bathrooms, replaced all windows, and replaced the wood on the front of the house with stucco.
We were very impressed with Mr. Thomas Cole, Cal Spec Builders president, the first time we met with him and our kitchen/bathroom interior designer. Mr. Cole was very meticulous in his review of our plans and determining how the new design would be implemented. He worked intimately with our designer to ensure that the cabinet design, floor tile, shower tile, and backsplash tile quantities were correct and could be built per the design, and in several instances, suggested better tile design alternatives.
The speed of construction was a complete surprised. After the first day, the kitchen and three bathrooms had been demolished and all dry wall had been removed. After the second day, all wood on the front of the house had been removed. The electrical and plumbing were upgraded and relocated, and new framing and drywall were quickly installed. The cabinets and tile were meticulously installed. We are very impressed with the tile installation. When the window supplier delivered several defective and damaged windows, Cal Spec Builders ensured that these defects were corrected. Cal Spec Builders worked with the kitchen designer and the tile supplier when the several delivered tile components did not correspond with the invoice.
We would not hesitate to choose Cal Spech Builders again. The most important testimonial that I can provide is that we have been recommending Cal Spec Builders to our friends, one of whom signed a contract to have Cal Spec Builders remodel their kitchen although our remodeling project was not yet complete.

They recently completed a kitchen addition and total remodel for us with what we would call a “Record” – 7 weeks from start to completion. During that seven-week period, we found that Cal Spec Builders far exceeded superior workmanship in everything they did – tear out, clean up, forming, framing, roofing, stucco, installation of windows, drywall, cabinets, hardware, fixtures, both electrical and plumbing, granite, tile, flooring, baseboard, crown molding and appliances. Their workers were experienced craftsmen; they were friendly, polite, and totally respectful to us and of our property. Without question each and every worker performed as a PAC-10 team working harmoniously with the true spirit of friends. They inspired confidence all through the job.
In addition, their dependability was remarkable. They set a schedule that did not waiver. Extra workers were even called in to curtail any delays due to the Labor Day weekend. Their work schedule was made and performed like clock work. They sailed through every inspection with flying colors.
Their foreman kept us very well informed both by phone and in person. The communication was outstanding. In addition to the foreman’s cell phone number, we had the owner’s cell phone at our disposal with the assurance that we could contact them at any time.
The contract was followed to the letter; there were no surprises or additional unexpected costs. Any apprehension we had at the beginning of this adventure was completely erased within the first week.
If all construction firms could meet the clarion call of excellence that Cal Spec Builders does, there would be no horror stories to tell, only stories of complete satisfaction from start to finish.
